Today is March 15th of #WomensHistoryMonth and the birthday of former Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg!
In her honor I am proud to present my NOTORIOUS NEW REMIX of "Truth Bomb" compliments of Shaun Jones AKA GrandMixer GMS whose rad talents for scratching & transforming you can also check out on the original version of "Truth Bomb" & "Caution" from my new album "Feminenergy" released in 2020.
DJing is an art and GrandMixer GMS is a true artist. It's been my pleasure to feature his skills (which are second to none) behind the turntables on my new album as well as share his talents as a producer on this re-imagined version of "Truth Bomb" which has a cool old school flavor w/a modern twist. I love this new 2nd remix and have huge respect for the man who made it.
GMS first touched the turntables as a breakdancer at 11 years old. In 1986 he became the first DJ to mix for commercial radio in Spokane, Washington at just 14 years old. As a turntablist, GMS won the 1993 Inland Northwest Battle of the DJ's and began mixing with Tobin Costen on Spokane's then only rap show that same year. The following year GMS began mixing for Nasty-Nes on Seattle's KCMU Rap Attack until retiring from music in the mid 90's. In 2020 he picked up the needles to reunite with Nasty-Nes on KFOX Nightbeat where he can be heard mixing every Sunday evening from 9-11pm @ www.rainieravenueradio.world 💿 🎧 💿 In 2020 GMS also became the first Spokane DJ to mix on "Sway In The Morning" - the world's #1 Hip-Hop radio show and his mixes consistently rank in the top 10 on Mixcloud's global charts, hitting #1 on multiple charts.

To quote our first woman Vice President Kamala Harris
"Ruth Bader Ginsburg was notorious for recognizing the women who came before her and fighting to pave the way for those to come after.
Today, on her birthday, we honor her life and the legacy, and we recommit to fighting for equality and justice for all."
#RBG was born 88 years ago today. A champion for equality. Hero. Icon. Dissenter. A powerful equalizer and a pioneer. During her lifetime she inspired so many women. Including myself. Her words, her actions and her reactions all resonated & remain to this day. The second woman to serve on the Supreme Court, she spent decade after decade, devoting herself to improving the lives of millions of women and smashed through an iron wall in the name of equity & justice, ensuring more women have a seat at the table. A remarkable life spent in public service to the country she loved.
The Notorious RBG may have been small in stature but she was a giant among men. One of those men was civil rights activist John Lewis. A freedom rider and one of the "Big Six" leaders of groups who organized the 1963 March on Washington. He fulfilled many key roles in the civil rights movement and its actions to end legalized racial segregation in the United States. In 1965, Lewis led the first of three Selma to Montgomery marches across the Edmund Pettus Bridge. In an incident which became known as Bloody Sunday, state troopers and police attacked the marchers, including Lewis who was arrested and jailed many times during the nonviolent activities. He was also instrumental in organizing bus boycotts and other nonviolent protests to support voting rights and racial equality. During this time, Lewis said it was important to engage in "good trouble, necessary trouble" in order to achieve change, and he held by the phrase and philosophy throughout his life
This song is dedicated to the memories of these two great leaders who dedicated their lives to equality, justice and public service in the name of good trouble. Necessary trouble.
